“It’s pretty easy to discern why we chose The Lone Bellow to play this year’s festival the minute you hear the first strands of “Tree to Grow”, “Teach Me to Know” or their increasingly popular single, “You Never Need Nobody”. But, the real clincher for us came when Zach Williams, Kanene Pipkin, Brian Elmquist unleashed their voices and blended their country tinged, heart-wrenching harmonies with such seamless ease. While their music stretches the wide spectrum of what some may term Americana, it’s clear they have begun to whittle a small niche to call their own. Imagine them out at the fort, with their ability to bring their big sound to a controlled hush with the flick of a lyric, and you can understand why we invited them this year.”
